Jay-Z, the founder of the company that books the Super Bowl halftime show, has found his 2027 headliner: himself. The Roc Nation chief will perform at the event for the first time at next year’s Super Bowl LXI, which takes place February 14 at SoFi Stadium in Inglewood, California. Check out the rapper’s teaser clip for the show below.
Jay has been the NFL’s live music entertainment strategist since 2019 and also operates as a producer with final say on the SB halftime headliner. In 2024, when asked if he would ever headline the show himself, he told Entertainment Tonight, “I thought it would be selfish to pick myself too early. Maybe one year. Maybe.”
In a press release announcing his billing, Jay had this to say: “From Reasonable Doubt to standing on the Super Bowl halftime stage, this has been a journey. Thirty years of music, work, and culture on the world’s biggest stage. This run continues to be a dream come true.”
The announcement by Roc Nation follows last year’s Bad Bunny show, which drew vitriol from the far-right, including President Trump, and support from a huge swath of the music world and other politicians. Jay has spent the year on his Jay-Z 30 tour, celebrating three decades of his debut album, Reasonable Doubt.
